From Miami to BuffaloStart-up: #89 , #101 and #113 + Rookie 4th Round #44 From Buffalo to MiamiStart-up: #70 , #146 and #170 Miami has one more player which he likes to pick. It was kind of hard for me to give this pick up, because after talking I think Miami is going to pick the player which I is on top of my list. So to compensate the loss, I need to get something in return. dmenn

-40 If this trade were to occur in the earlier rounds then this would be dangerously close to being a trade not good for the league considering Miami is giving up an average of almost 30 spots and a rookie pick as well for gaining a few spots... Buffalo clearly wins this trade nevertheless since Miami wants a specific player and believes he can't get him by waiting then the trade is a go Once Miami agrees to the trade here!

and Miami gave up all these valuable picks ...to get a shot at a " hamster" formerly known as RB Doug Martin..? A player who was about to loose his starting job last year, was out of shape and barely escaped an auto accident just a few days back..? he says he wants a bellcow back..? are you kiddin`me..? ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) This is the proof that some guys simply have to learn, how about to make deals that actually helps "BOTH TRADE PARTNERS" """ in this case: lobsided trade only and i guess i am out of that crap! Too much trades , for my kinda taste. I´ll take my lesson out of this mess: I will stay with all of my original picks for THIS start-up draft AND my ROOKIE Draft ! Period! Ready, as EAGLES GM to enjoy my next Pick ...live and or die with the Originals , how about that..?

QUOTE ESTEBA (Trade Reviwer) : "if you don't like the trades and would've vetoed against them, you should've become a trade reviewer... but you decided not to... thanks for voicing your opinions though, (even if it's way after the trades were made) input is always welcome..."
WRONG Esteban! Right before our start Up draft started i wrote Pat (who does a great job as Commissioner right from the start) i would like to become a trade reviewer , because i am the Commish of a NFL Fantasy League for about 20 Years with a proven Record of handling all aspects of a Fantasy league..only to been told by Pat it was too late: you both guys already have taken over this job for us .Not a big deal at all ..i thought ..until now.. If Pat is involved in barely every trade , and you as trade reviewers end up in a SPLIT DECISION , what what be the result..? So i am officially asking about a job as the THIRD trade reviewer, although like our Green Bay Gm and one other (don`t remember his name at this time) also think for a start up draft actually , there are WAAAAAY to MAAANY Trades going on , to find a fair Judgement. If someone wants to throw his future into the garbagge kennel ...don`t stop the poore soul, but at least give him the chance to think about it! No Pat , i don`t share your opninion in your comment. YES i expect us all to be grown up men here with the love for the NFL, but i know that some of us are more "in IT" and better prepared than others , that`s how the story has been written in every league I´ve ever participated. So let these "underdogs" at least gain some leverage by giving them the consensious mind about a trade which doesn`t look to be equal for both sides ...before thinking : Oh great for myself , let`s got it !

Sorry, I really said you can not be a trade reviewer?! I always said we need to have as mich trade reviewers as possible. This was then my fault. So if you still want - you are trade reviewer #3
If anyone else want to help as a reviewer please let me know. The more the better.
This will also help in "crucial" trades. For example when we would have 4 - 5 reviewer. They can discuss a trade, do their comments and then decide what going to happen with the trade.
Because the trade is already waved thru and the pick is done, we can not undo the trade. This will mess up all the following picks etc.
But we should learn and use it for upcoming trades.

first of all, congrats on a 20 year long reign as commish in a FF league... anyway, the number of trades is too high? if i want to move my spot, imma move my spot, no matter how many trades i have done so far... thanks to the pick-order on page one of the start up draft thread it is really easy to follow who is up when, thus i don't share you opinion... i don't see the league hurting so far at all, even though i have to admit pat made some ground with his trades (good for him)... furthermore, while some trades might not make sense to you, they might be perfect for both trade partners and their agenda... you never know what the strategy of one of the GMs might look like, so if the trade is still somewhat okay in our opinion, it will be a go every time...

Just a few observations (because numbers dont lie): - Including round 10, we have 120 picks/spots overall. Out of this 120 spots, 55 times spots have changed ownership. That is 45% of all spots. Only 65% of all spots remaine at origin ownership so far. - The one team involved most in trades was involved in 25% of all change of ownership of spots (14).
Just a few thoughts (on the numbers and in general): - Where is the sense of having a draft spot lottery when only 65% of spots remain with initial owner? That is a huge impact on the strategy dimension of the draft – it turns into playing lottery. - It is really hard to follow all these changes and predict impact of trades when single spots can be traded several times. - There is not only something like an assessment of a single trade – there is also an overall dimension of trading; several small advantages in several trades can have huge impact on overall picture/fairnes. - By observing progress so far I pretty much see weak and strong GM playing in this leage; for some I see a strategy impacting pick selection – for some it is tough to see. - Some take best player available (based on last season scoring); some select players based on value (taking into account price; carreer phase; upside; circumstances in team; etc. [dont want to reveal all ])
Just my five cents… nothing offensive against no one…

i get your points... nevertheless, i stand with what i said earlier when i mentioned that i'd move anytime if i think it would be better for me... and a draft being something like a lottery is just a draft being a draft... you will have to get lucky at some point and just hope your player is still there... if you want to be sure you get the player you want, trade up ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I like the discussions we are having. Everybody stays calm and just saying the own thoughts.
You will have always Teams with different interests. I see not a big gap in between the teams. Actually they all are pretty close together. Because Draft boards will be more and more different, now is the time where "luck picks" will come.
Just one example.
I had C.Coleman WR CLE way up on my list but was afraid to take him because of J.Gordon. Now the news come out Gordon will not be reinstated - Luck or good pick for TB

Ok I'm not even sure what the problem is here. If someone wanted to move up in a draft then by god let them! What it matter to anyone of us if a dude makes a very questionable pick with his trade up... in the end he will have a problem. As to what Green Bay said: strategies change if people get picked! That's part of any Draft ever done! If you want a certain player then trade up to the position u think you can get him at! If that didn't happen then you the luck ran out and it's on to the next one. Not to mention in a startup draft there will be THE MOST TRADES happening because that's where people want to get certain folks for their dynasty (future). Not to mention the draft order was made randomly so if you a team that drafts further back OF COURSE you would want to move up somehow ESPECIALLY if it's not a snake Draft. Add in us playing with a salary cap and contract length ! It only makes sense this would be the way it will happen... or did that not happen 20yrs ago when they had startup drafts?! As for Trade Reviewers: Absolutley add as many as you can... not sure why you wouldn't want that Bc as Pat said if u got a questionable trade the more reviewers the better! All trades that have been attempted to be made have been in my opinion correctly reviewed! Now what happens to those picks and how they are used is nobody's concern! If someone has pick 40 and Picks Moritz Boehringer then I will laugh and keep it moving. All in all so far everything went by pretty smoothly so I'm not even sure what the problem is here?! If one don't want to trade no more then don't! If someone want to trade away everything then do it! The Trade Reviewers are there to make sure it doesn't hurt the LEAGUE (which so far has been done). They are surely not there to see how it will hurt or help individual teams.
